OREGON

THE PNW ROADTRIp

Fort Bragg – Humboldt Redwoods State Park – Klamath – Grants Pass – Umpqua National Forest –Eugene – Cape Kiwanda – Cannon Beach

This was the start of my virgin car camping road trip with my best bud Damon. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, both to live in a car and to drive down the famous Pacific Northwest. Our goal was to reach Vancouver, Canada before turning back to our start point, Cupertino, California. Damon and I were talking about it for months to find the perfect time where he could take time off school to do this trip. What sounded like a fantasy through texts became reality when we picked up our Ford Expedition and converted it into a camper. We got our camping gears from Walmart and we left town the next day, driving into the most beautiful redwood forests, never-ending coastlines and hidden gems. We picked up new knowledge as we went and learned from mistakes. We got our car stuck twice in soft sand twice before we learned to stay away. We messed up many cook sessions with our propane gas stove before enjoying edible food on the road. We forged countless of unanticipated yet precious friendships from people who we were so lucky to cross paths with and made the best memories.

I learned this beautiful line from someone I met while travelling – “It’s either a good time or a good story to tell.”
